And now for something completely different. This is Matchbox 19a, which is the first regular passenger car introduced into the range that later became the 1-75 series. This model entered the lineup in 1956, and was made until 1958, when it was replaced by an MGA.

It's hard to tell exactly which car this is supposed to be - officially, it is supposed to be a MG-TD, and looks like this on the box, but to me, the model looks more like a TC:

It's a fine casting for something of it's size - it's tiny. I estimate scale to be around 1:75-1:80. These early cars have metal wheels which roll well enough on a surface with a little resistance, but might damage a polished smooth surface.
