[REVIEW] - Tekno VW

And time again for something different. I am on the road, but have a load of pics on the ol laptop, and a few minutes, so I thought I'd keep the Sunday tradition alive.

This is a diecast by Danish maker Tekno, who made a range of high quality ~1:43 models from the 40s through maybe the early 70s. I found this model at an antique shop when I was still a teenager, I think - it was so odd (and an oval window), I couldn't pass it up.

I believe this model was produced around 1955. It has no interior, kind of unusual windows, it is a nice shade of blue. Headlight lenses are a nice touch. This is relatively crude by today's standards, but was pretty nice ~60 years ago, especially as the VW shape isn't easy to model:

Hand applied details are nice, too. I don't know if these are original or are superdetailing, but I have to suspect the former:

The prominent VW logo had me suspect this might be a promo item, but I have never really researched it. I do know the model is fairly rare, and has a little value:
