[REVIEW] - Dinky 38B Sunbeam-Talbot

It's that time again, and today I am lucky enough to be back home, and able to do a quick review. I seek to do something different each week, nothing will be back-to-back the same model or maker. (unless someone actually wants 250+ weeks of Regular Wheel Matchbox). This time it is something very different.

This is Dinky 38B, an open Sunbeam-Talbot, introduced to the range in 1940 (!) - but this variant with body color hubs is from postwar production. In those days. a Dinky casting could often remain in production for 10+ years. I've had this model for many years, buying it from an antique dealer friend of my mother's, when I was younger. I think I paid $5 for it. It's kind of a sentimental object now, as I have had it so long, and the woman who sold it to me is now gone, but fondly remembered.

The model has withstood the years fairly well:

Detail is pretty good for something of this age, and it was not an expensive item when new. Scale is around 1:43:

The windshield and headlights surviving intact is probably a minor miracle:

There were some really cool Dinky models made just before and after the war, but prices are steep and they aren't exactly common. This gently driven example is nice enough for me.
