[REVIEW] Siku Mercedes-Benz W114 250 Polizei

It's review time again. Here we have Siku 1020, a MB W114 250 (/8) police car. This was introduced to the range in 1975, and I believe all Siku of this era are 1:60 or so. Not too many diecast of "strich acht" MBs out there, nor of old German police cars, this is a good one:

Fairly well proportioned, and the tinted glass is definitely a "period color". I like the antenna on these, it swivels to avoid being broken:

Doors open, and it has typical interior detail for a Siku of this era:

Back then, Siku typically had an unpainted metal base, and these thin free-wheeling wheels, with minor suspension travel:

I got this model earlier this year in a lot with others of the same era. I had this casting with the later whitewall style wheels in my childhood fleet, bought at Kay-Bee Toys around 1987 - they sold Siku during the 80s under the "Eurobuilt" line, and they cost $3-4 back then, a step up from HW and Matchbox. I had a few Siku, as I wanted the German livery. A neat little model - the only other small scale /8 that comes to mind is a Corgi Juniors.
