[REVIEW] Penny Maserati 3500 GT

And now for something completely different yet again. Here we have the Maserati 3500 GT made by "Penny", which was a range made in the early days of Polistil. This model, along with most of the Penny lineup, was introduced in 1967. The range was only made until 1970, so these are relatively uncommon, although not terribly expensive. This is a charming and nicely done piece:

Detail is quite good for 1:66 scale, the wheels are neat, there is minor suspension feel, and the casting is quite solid. It really reminds me of old Tomica, but this predates those by some years:

Decent undercarriage, again very Tomica-like:

Kind of a shame these weren't more successful, as this is a nice piece, and I imagine the others are too. These seem undervalued right now, I sometimes see them on ebay for about the price of common boxed late run RWs. I picked this up as an impulse buy, as it seemed cheap. I might add more to my collection if I happen to find another with a lucky buy-it-now price.
