Review time again, and again a change of pace. Here we have a 1:87 Audi 100 Avant (C4) made in the early 90s by the relatively obscure maker Rietze. This firm is still in business, but seems now to focus mainly on commercial vehicles and promo items. As is typical for German made HO models, it is a jewel-like piece of intricate detail:
Nice wheels, glazing, lenses, interior, proportions, this has it all:
Even if this was a 1:64 or larger model, the detail would be commendable:
Tiny detail everywhere:
Even underneath:
Looks good in the original packaging:
My pics for the next several reviews might seem a little dim or dark - I don't like using a flash or bright lights, and it's the time of year in my area where opening window shades can make a room darker - it's dreary out.
I found this along with several other period HO cars at a flea market in Austria a couple years ago. I paid 2 Euro apiece - seemed like a fine deal to me, and easy to take home. You can't go wrong with German HO scale models.
