Estate Sale Rescue Part 2

I went to another sale this morning, and found something again - 2 in a row is quite unusual. I got up early and waited for over an hour for a sale that overpromised and underdelivered - but I managed to scrounge out a few things.

First, I found the Majorette Cadillac limo, filthy, sitting unceremoniously with a bunch of junk on a basement rec room pool table. I examined it and saw that it was grimy but mint, and put it in my bag. A real childhood memory, I had a couple of these when I was a kid.

Then on my way out, I was going through the trinkets near the cashier, kept close to prevent theft, I guess. In the pile of old buttons and jewelry, I found Matchbox 36a, the Austin A50. It's one of the more boring early models, having entered the range in 1957, and I already have a few of them. But it's mint. No other decent toy vehicles, unfortunately - just some heavily playworn Tootsie and Hubley style material.

Price, $2 each. I can't argue with that. Odd that they'd co-exist at this place - the Matchbox would have been made from 1958-60, and the Majorette is from the late 80s. I like to think I at least rescued the Majorette. More for the pile...the Majorette is begging for a future review.
