[REVIEW] Siku Porsche 911 Targa

Maybe Siku Sunday? It's been a little while since we've seen this brand, good time to post this charming old casting. This is Siku V234/1010, a Porsche 911 Targa. This model entered the range in 1970, and with these early style faster wheels, was made around 1975. This is an old casting adapted to the new technology, kind of like Matchbox "transitional Superfast". There aren't many small scale castings of Targas out there, and this one is a winner, nicely detailed. I'd guess it is around 1:60 scale, the smaller scale Siku before they became a little larger around the late 70s or early 80s. It's in a brilliant silver that suits the car well:

Tinted windows are very 70s. Just a few chips from improper storage - gives "patina" I guess. This could be considered a barnfind, maybe:

Doors flop open in typical old Siku style, the dash being a seperate piece is nice, lots of fine detail to be found everywhere - it's a 911E:

Undercarriage typical of old Siku, this one has acquired a fine patina that reminds me of mildly tarnished silver - it goes with the silver theme of the car:

I found this with some other diecast a few years ago, and am glad to have rescued it, as these aren't getting any easier to find. It goes well with the rest of my vintage fleet.
