Well, kind of - if it runs on Kinja, the title has to be dramatic and a little clickbait-y, right?
Anyway, I recently uncovered some Tomica that I have had for a long time, and forgot about for a long time. I bought all of these, new, in 1995. These were all new or current castings in the range then, I think. I was 18, and was about to get out of diecast, but saw an ad for someone privately importing these, and bought a few. I ended up looking at these for awhile, doing some superdetailing - mainly with silver paint, letting a young relative play with a few of them, resulting in a couple small chips. Then I went away to school, they got boxed up, and stashed away. They eventually ended up in the plastic tub where the upcoming giveaway cars are stored. Some of the boxes didn't survive in mint condition, but the cars fared OK.

This is a failed custom - I was blacking out some trim (I think inspired by the then-new C36 AMG), it didn't work well, I gave up:

I also had another, which appears lost to time - a pearl white Lexus SC-style Soarer. I remember it, but can't find it. I have a small sentimental attachment to these as I have had them half my life, so I plan to keep them for now - but as they are newer than what I collect, who knows what could happen.
There are more Tomicas to come, we'll see those in awhile, when I get a deal hammered out.
