[REVIEW] Tomica Nissan Fairlady Z / 300ZX

Tomica time again, 2 weeks have passed since the last one. This installment features another model I bought about 20 years ago - I am going to do all of these before I move on to older Tomica, as I have already taken pics. Today’s car is Tomica 15, the Nissan 300ZX - the pornographer’s car. Introduced to the range in 1990, it remained in production until 2001, no doubt in large part because of the very modern styling of the real car, a design that aged very well. This is one of the best styled 90s Japanese cars, it still looks good today:

As expected from the brand, detail and proportion are excellent. Scale is 1:59, and this looks to be accurate. The castings were getting a little softer from the sharp detail of those a decade earlier, but not as soft as those today:

Quirky undersized steering wheel, just a little superdetailing here and there from yours truly:

The original box aged well:

Still Made in Japan, the Made in China era was just around the corner. The undercarriage has detail mostly centered around the axles:

Too bad the T-tops aren’t clear, but that seems to be a thing Tomica did with Z cars. Still, a nice casting of a popular and significant car of the era, and I am glad I chose it back in the day.
