[REVIEW] Tomica Toyota Sprinter Carib

Tomica time again, today we get a lucky 13 pics of a nice piece of the 80s. This is Tomica 23-3, the Toyota Sprinter Carib (Tercel SR5 in NA). This model entered the range in June, 1983, and claims to be 1:61 scale, which appears accurate. As to be expected from Tomica of this era, it’s a nice piece:

From all angles, you can tell what it is. This was a must have for me, as I remember these cars when I was a kid, they were quite popular in the PNW - and more than a few are still on the road today. The quirky styling always caught my eye. These were usually seen in 4WD guise here, and this one is also a 4WD:

Front and rear are just as accurate - yes, those are headlight lenses, and the rear opens:

Base has some nice detail and is gloss black, which became a thing in the 80s:

The model matches the box illustration, which I think is cool:

I’m quite happy to have this. I also have one in a different color scheme, but when the opportunity came up to get a boxed one, I couldn’t say no:
