I got up way too early this morning to wait at an estate sale, as I spotted a few things I wanted in the ad. Being early paid off, as I got everything I wanted. They had some old diecast in the listing, and I got it all:
We have a 1963-4 issue Service Station and Fire Station, pump set, a tank transporter sans tank, a M-2 Tyre Truck, M-8 car transporter, Corgi Stingray, and Corgi James Bond Aston Martin DB5.
Condition is mostly nice, most not perfect, gently played with. The Aston is fairly minty, the Fire Station looks nice, Service Station isn’t bad, pump set is missing light posts, car transporter has a couple issues, tank transporter has light wear (along with a missing tank). The Stingray has some playwear, the Aston is a first issue I think, and is near mint, still has the figure in the ejector seat.
Prices were OK - not yard sale prices as it was ran by a company, but they only know or care so much as they are clearing out a house. I’d call it swap meet prices, wholesale - this is where antique dealers buy.
Now that I am home and looking at it, I really don’t want it all - as I don’t have room. I kind of like the Service Station and the M-2 truck, but the rest are going to go. For those reading this, that means I will be looking to sell, and am only looking for a modest profit, if any. If someone wants the Corgis, Fire Station, car transporter, tank transporter, let me know. Prices won’t be yard sale, but they will be a lot less than ebay.
