Tomica time again, today we get to examine a sweet little car. This is Tomica 108-1, the Toyota Corolla 30 Levin. This model entered the range in December, 1975, and claims to be a believable 1:59 scale. It is an attractive model:
Detail is typically excellent from all angles, and the model features the springy suspension, snappy door operation, and crisp glazing we expect from Tomica of this era:
This model really shows off the true hardtop style of this car. Interior has accurate detail, including steering wheel design:
Front and rear are just as well done - the “Levin” script on the grille is a nice touch:
Base is metal for the high quality feel, and has some detail:
This one is lucky enough to live in its original black box:
This is really a little gem, and I feel lucky to have it:
A period photo of the real thing that someone put on pinterest:
These were also sold in the US, maybe for MY 1976 or 76-77 only, they are really rare, but I know I have seen one before.
