Toy Show Hawl

Well, a small haul. Today was the Greater Seattle Toy Show - I missed the last one, but made it a point to attend this one. It appears that all vendor tables were sold, and it was pretty packed - a good sign for the hobby as it was at least 75% diecast content. Tons of HW, of course, and a lot of Matchbox as well, along with larger scale. A few train and action figure etc sellers, too. I was afraid I might go home empty handed, but I managed to find a few things:

First off, the Herpa “Private Collection” 300CE cabrio. This probably dates to the early 90s, and is a fine example of the amazing quality of German made HO vehicles. For $5, I thought I couldn’t go wrong - seller also had some unusual 90s HO (like a Caprice), but I only bought this, as I like the real car. It’s a nice piece and will probably find its way into a review:

Next up, an Impy Mercedes-Benz 220SE, just like my fintail. I already have one of these, but this is nicer, and as I suspected, is different from mine - I have red interior, this is blue interior (like my 1:1) car. These cars had many opening parts, and the jeweled headlights that everyone seems to like:

And surprise of surprises, I found a black box Tomica, a Toyota Crown police car. This is Tomica 4-3, in the range from December 1975 until May 1981. I was asking sellers if they had Tomica, with little results - those who did had Pocket Cars material, and it was sometimes optimistically priced. Then I noticed this, and got a fair deal:

I don’t know much about HW - the majority of material there, so I didn’t look much into those, other than seeking the Top Gun Ninja - only found one, and at $10 I thought it was too dear. I also want an 80s issue 380 SEL with Real Riders, I saw nothing like that. There was some Lesney too, nothing I needed, and a lot of 90s era carded stuff going cheap. I should have taken a pic inside the show, but I didn’t - here’s a pic from tonkatoys.com showing a small corner of a prior event:

That is all.
