What’s more Murican than a fullsize pickup? And it’s even a Chevy, to go along with baseball and apple pie. The box has the stars and stripes on it. Sure, the casting was made in Japan, but it still works. This is Tomica F44-1, the Chevrolet Truck. This casting entered the range in April, 1978, and the tampos on this variant are nothing short of fantastic:
This is an excellent rendition of a late 70s style Chevy pickup. The unique looking rollbar, chrome wheels, and bright graphics really give it a period touch. I can just imagine it cruising down a 55mph highway with pop country of the era like Kenny Rogers or the Oak Ridge Boys on the radio:
All the coolness of an old truck combined with the quality we expect from vintage Tomica - it has good suspension feel, nice door action, and quality glazing. The paint is quite nice, too, and the tow hitch adds value. Doors open to reveal a nicely detailed interior and accurate steering wheel:
