[REVIEW] Tomica Nissan Silvia Coupe

Tomica time again, also Land of the Rising Sun-day, so this fits right in. Today we examine Tomica 6-4, the Nissan Silvia Coupe. This casting entered the range in March, 1984, and is a fine representation of 1980s Tomica:

Specifically, this is an S12 Silvia, in RS-X trim. This car was also sold in NA as a 200SX, and was a relatively common sight back in the day, at least on the west coast. Detail is fine from all angles, and the RS-X DOHC Turbo tampo adds period flair. Scale claims to be 1:62, and I believe this is accurate. The sunroof is a nice touch. Of course, this casting has the springy suspension, crisp glazing, and snappy door action we love and expect from Tomica:

The rear profile shows off the unique wraparound rear window. The interior is highly detailed, with cool realistic bolstered seats and an accurate steering wheel:

Front and rear have good detail, showing off the hood scoop. The rear lights are a lens, a detail that pushes my buttons:

Base is plastic, typical for the era, and has plenty of detail:

This casting was sold as a Pocket Cars during the late days of the series, so it isn’t terribly hard to find. It was made for several years. This is another unboxed car, an earlier version likely sold in Pocket Cars packaging when new. I am definitely glad to have this in my collection:
