Me again. I noticed some others are showing their VWs for breadbox week, and I remembered I have some pics of mine. These are all Lesney Matchbox, 34a (1957) and 34b (1962).
In order of appearance, we have 34a with metal wheels, small grey plastic wheels, knobby grey plastic wheels, and an early release 34b with knobby grey plastic wheels. Both 34a and 34b exist with silver and black wheels, silver being rare on 34a and a high rarity on 34b, black is a high rarity on 34a and not rare on 34b. I also have a fine tread grey wheels 34b found at an estate sale earlier this year, seen in this group with the other Lesney Matchbox found there:
I took the other pics a few years ago when I was going to kind of inventory the hoard, but I didn’t stick with the project. Oh well, enjoy some vintage Type 2s from a second consecutive weekday post. Who knows what might make me think next.
