I was on my feet for about 8 hours today, walking on comfortable and ergonomically-awesome cobblestones. I need a little break, and this is a good time for it. While looking around today, I stopped in a couple shops, and checked out the selection. Let’s see what’s on the market here. First, shots from a placed called “Sparkys”. This was in a mall. As you can see, some different brands are present. Some odd castings, a not half-bad MB W212 caught my eye:
A couple of Skoda and Tatra large scale mixed in with plastic RC stuff:
HW and MBX:
More unfamiliar-to-me brands in varying scales:
The ubquitious Siku:
And a big display of 1:36-1:43-ish material similar to in American drugstores. There were a couple of somewhat crude Lada 2101s that caught my eye, but I’d have only really been tempted if they were made in Russia (blurry shot, dodging employees):
Now on to a store called Hamleys, which has a British connection. This was on a fancier street, with prices to match - all of this stuff was a bit pricier than in Germany, sometimes more than double.
Some Siku and more Skoda/Tatra selection, only for boys:
Souvenir type Skodas:
Another fun name, “John World” - seems like an odd name:
Siku on a column:
HW, MBX, Majorette, etc:
Bburago kits, not a common sight:
And some fun slot cars. Audi Sport Quattro looked cool, but was pretty expensive:
That is all - for now.
