My next entrant for LaLD ///May is something unusual and quirky, even for my collection. This is a small plastic casting of a BMW 502, made in Germany, maker unknown. As one can see, this is not a precision scale model, but it still has some charm:
This little car is somewhat petite, maybe a little smaller than typical small scale, perhaps around 1:65-1:70. This probably dates from around 1960. It is a hollow somewhat soft plastic casting, with no glazing, no opening wheels, solid axles - likely part of a playset or car hauler set etc. I’ve had this for many years, I found it at a yard sale when I was a kid - it would have been vintage then, and I held on to it. I’ve never really looked into the maker, as prior searches came up with nothing, and there’s not a lot to go on. However, from all angles, there’s no mistaking what kind of car this is:
Front and rear have similar qualities - nothing but the basics. The silver detailing was applied by me back in the day - I must have been in a hurry:

As I’ve had this for more than half my life, it has a little sentimental value, and I am glad to have it. It now hangs out with some other plastic cars in my hoard. Quite an unusual little Barockengel:
