LaLD ///May: Majorette BMW 733

My final entry for LaLD ///May is another seen some time ago. This is Majorette 256, the BMW 733 (E23) . This casting was in the range from 1979-86, and is a lovely model:

I really like Majorette of this era, and this casting embodies everything good about the brand. Majorette of this time usually had excellent detail and proportions, precise door action, nice firm suspension and crisp glazing, often had lenses for front or rear lights, and I really like the three spoke wheel type, as seen on this car. Scale is claimed to be 1:60, likely accurate. From all angles, this is a little gem:

Doors open to reveal a detailed interior and accurate steering wheel:

Front and rear are of similar high quality. The car having French plates is a fun touch, and it has lenses for rear lights, a detail I am fond of. The tow hook adds play value, as Majorette made many accessories for towing, and “733" cast in to the trunklid in accurate font is a nice detail:

The base is metal, but is all about identifying data rather than technical detail:

This example is fortunate enough to live in its original bubble style packaging. This type of packaging is a fond memory for me, as I remember a beach town gift shop I would visit when I was a kid had a rotating Majorette display containing this packaging. The original owner carefully DLM’d this, so I can access the model within:

This is one I am indeed very pleased to have in my collection. I like the 1:1 vehicle, the packaging, and products from this brand from the era in general. A nice casting:

And a 1:1 from maybe the most famous role for this car, George McFly’s car in BTTF 1985 A1, from imcdb:
