LaLD Running of the Bulls 2018: Tomica Lamborghini Cheetah

Time for the second of my three entries for the LaLD Running of the Bulls week. This is one I reviewed a while back, time to show it again. This is Tomica F65-1, the Lamborghini Cheetah. This casting entered the range in March 1979, and is an excellent model, everything one would expect:

This predecessor to the LM002 is a quality piece of diecast workmanship. Scale is claimed to be 1:62, likely accurate. Detail is also accurate, and proportion appears correct. There are no opening parts, but this casting still has the crisp glazing and springy (but firm in this case) suspension we all enjoy, along with a detailed interior. From all angles, this machine looks like it should be out jumping some dunes:

Front and rear continue the detailed theme, with the winch at front, Cheeta and badge tampos on the hood, Cheetah emblem cast in on the rear deck, and jerrycans with shovel at rear being nice touches:

The base is metal, which adds considerable heft, and contains technical and identifying detail:

This example is lucky enough to live in its original F-series box. Notice this box is F28 - it appears F28 replaced F65 in 1984(appears to be the same casting), and I suspect some old stock made it into the new box:

I am happy to have this blast from the past in my collection. It’s a vehicle apparently not cast by many makers, and it is very well done. Tomica quality once again:
