LaLD Running of the Bulls 2018: Tomica Lamborghini Miura SV

Now for my third and final installment in LaLD Running of the Bulls. This lovely model has been seen before, but deserves to be seen again. This is Tomica F40-1, the Lamborghini Miura SV. This casting entered the range in November 1977, and is quite a beauty:

I reviewed this one some time ago, but I only have so many Lamborghinis, and this one is so photogenic, it had to be shown again. This is Tomica doing it all right - excellent casting detail, the snappy door action, crisp glazing, and springy suspension we know and love, all with a luminous paint that reminds me of early redline era Hot Wheels or transitional era Superfast. The crisp tampo is also well-coordinated with the gold button wheels. Scale is claimed to be 1:62, likely accurate as always. From all angles, it is an attractive model:

Doors open to reveal a detailed interior and accurate steering wheel:

Front and rear have similarly good detail, with the shield at front and “Miura” cast-in at rear being nice touches:

The base is plastic, a trend of the time, and contains ample identifying and technical detail:

This example is fortunate enough to live in its original F series box:

This is definitely a casting I am glad to have in my collection. It is a nice model of a remarkable car, in possibly the most remarkable color:

Some 1:1s from automotorblog.com, caranddriver.com, and blogspot.com, the first and last cars somewhat resembling the Tomica version:
