I noticed the announcement for Car Week late, didn’t have time for new pics, so I am bringing back some old gems. Few cars are more 80s than an F-body, you can just hear Def Leppard streaming from the stereo as the driver, wearing acid wash jeans and high tops, aims the long low machine through traffic. People complain about GM of this era, but these had some presence, and also looked good in blue in real life. A Tomica gem which entered the range in 1983, representing a specific point in time now a long time in the past:
On may notice the crisp tampo reads “Z28-E” - this was an export model made for a short time earlier in the production run of the 1982+ cars. I suspect most were sold in the European market. Even the base has nice detail:
Many makers had 1:64 F-body castings, this might be the finest:
