I know I have posted this before but that was in a comment and I thought I’d compose a post to address Tampo removal. Tampo is either love it or hate it for me and It has taken a while to find the right product to remove it without resorting to a sailors vocabulary.
I know a lot of people choose to use nail polish remover or an acetone but I have personally found those to damage the glossy shine as well as they tends to remove paint around the panel seams when you really have to work at removing the tampo. I chose a white car because they tend to leave the most evidence of a an old existing tampo when removed.
This will be an easy one. I recently got it because I know I could remove the unflattering Tomica self promoting.
All you need is some Q-tips, a car and a can of 3M spray adhesive remover... The 7up is optional but you will need a celebratory drink afterwords.
I stumbled upon 3M’s adhesive remover inadvertently while at work. I had to remove some emblems and a parts guy suggested it. It is solvent based but is designed to leave commercial grade paint untouched. It is safe on glass and paint but not plastic so I I spray it onto the head of a Q-tip and carefully rub it only where needed.
It works quick but like I said it will allow you to take your time if you really got to scrub.
And Voila. There you have it. If anyone has any sugestions please let me know. I’m an empty book. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with other methods this is just the best I’ve found and I wanted to share.
