LaLD: Frosted Feedback.

The bin at the local stores are getting pretty empty so I always like to take a look and see what people found the least desirable. I was a little surprised there were so many Huracans floating in there.

Thinking about it Lamborghini’s tend to not translated well into 1-64th diecasts. There is just too much going on with them. The proportions that make them look so different in real life sort of come off as strange in small scale. The front wheels are too close to the door and that exaggerates the front overhang. Without the stretched space between the rear wheel and the door (like on the Countach’s in the background) you kind of get a strong front wheel drive vibe in my opinion. The Huracan has this space but the doors have been stretched and exaggerated so they kind of even out the front and rear.

I wanted to see if I could mod it to look more desirable. I changed the wheels and cut out the side windows. I also tried painting the engine bay silver but is was so poorly detailed that I wound up frosting the inside of the glass to hide its engine. . . Not sure if that was the best Idea?... Should I replace the glass? You’re not supposed to see out the back of a Lamborghini anyways I suppose. I think I like my old Countach cast a lot more even with its negative offset and being a 25 anniversary model.

I also got around to adding some detail to the derelict Mustang. I even sprayed a layer of flat clear on her and that rally brought everything together.
