Holy Split

My nephew recently got his drivers licence and purchased his first car.... An 80’s Buick LeSabre. I would have steered him in a different direction but the car is actually pretty solid and I can tell he has the first car blinders on. He loves it and has been slowly customizing it to fit his style. He asked if I could make him a key but I wasn’t sure how to tackle the GM square key ignition. That’s the one with the ears sticking out of the ignition cylinder you are supposed to turn instead of the actual key.

As much as I love my off road hot rod bug I knew it was the only car small enough to fit between the ignition ears. It wasn’t going to look pretty so I decided why not just go all Mad Max with it. The bug already had the right vibe anyways. Spikes, rust, splatter, and a bunch of useless accessories inside. I hope he likes it.

I used some wire and a lego to complete the Mad Max look. I’ll probably wrap some tiny chain link around the pillars before I give it to him. This will be cool because the more he drops it the better it will look.
