Responsible Hunting: Update

So the other day I made a post about a collector breaking the rules of a store to get what he wanted. While I wish I had another update about that man being banned for life from the store, I did run into another collector today at work.

I saw a guy standing to the side of the endcap where the Hot Wheels are taking all of the cars off one row of pegs and putting them back one by one. I had to pack out some veggies right next to him so I made quick chit chat, asked if he was a collector, which he said yes so I asked what he was looking for. He said he didn't know for sure, he was hoping for a Super but didn't know which Supers we got, if we got any (grocery store cases differ vastly from a case say Walmart gets, it's usually a hodgepodge of cars from various other cases). I let him know that we do get Supers and had been getting the Twin Mills in the recent cases. He was happy to know that I was also a collector and not about to judge him. I pointed to the overheads next to where the HWs were, where the Hot Wheels that a previous collector had dumped on a floor were put. I told him about what had happened and how there were no supers left until because he had taken each one from all 4 cases. He wasn't happy about that to say the least. He didn't finish going through the pegs, just put everything back, saying people like that guy made employees at other stores look at good collectors badly and how he's tired of getting "the look" because people assume he's there to mess up the stores property/displays to get what he wants.

Collectors are, mostly, good people who just want a few cars and if they find a super, YAY! But then there are the lousy ones who give employees more work or destroy stuff. I wish us good collectors could set the example and show all of the stores we visit to hunt that we aren't weird, crappy assholes.
