Here’s a rare theme for toy cars: horses! As someone who lives on a horse farm and trains horses, I was super excited when Matchbox made not one but two models with a horse trainer deco a few years ago. Even better, it’s a VW Bus and a stepside Chevy.
The truck even has a trailer hitch. Pretty useful for a farm truck.
My only real complaint is that despite the similarities, these two aren’t an exact match in any way. The VW is a nice gloss blue, while the Chevy is a darker metallic. The decos for Blue Horse Trainers are both different light blues, and the actual designs are full of subtle differences.
Regardless, they still display well together. My favourite detail is the VW’s blue wheels. I wish Matchbox did matched wheels like that more often.
