What I have to present to you today is a 1:24 scale YT brand Chevrolet Bel Air pull string car. This is the original condition it arrived in, fresh from eBay.

I didn’t care fort the stickers at all of course.

As you can see there is a pull string at the rear, when pulled, the spring powered motor will be activated.

Sadly the rear stainless was not molded correctly, because it drops down instead of being parallel to the top of the rear fin.

The stickers on the roof were already loose. Also note, a slot for an antenna on the passenger front fender being this body was used on an R/C version.

Shockingly, this model comes with suspension. I was quite shocked to see this but it makes somewhat sense if this was also an R/C car.

Already a HUGE improvement with all the stickers removed.

I painted the simulated grilles around the headlights black to add more realisim and detail to the headlights. The area was already molded, I just simply had to paint it.

I did this a while ago, back when I used to cover the roofs with white vinyl instead of having it painted white. In the above picture you can definitely see a wrinkle.

All the chrome for this model I did with bare metal foil.

Fortunately on this model the grille was very nicely molded to include the mesh of the grille that I was able to detail with gold paint.

Here are closeups of the rear bumper and dashboard, for this model I just left the light interior since I felt it was different since the seats etc were not stock. Maybe if I was doing this today I may have painted the dashboard red.

Here is the model mostly done, I made my own emblems for the front and rear, they don’t look too bad but obviously you can see they don’t look nearly as detailed as what I have been able to make with my wife’s Cricut machine.

Here is the completed model. I think it turned out pretty good.
