My Tomica wishlist.

Illustration for article titled My Tomica wishlist.

HW and MBX have been hitting home runs. Greenlight has been making great stuff lately. JL is on a roll. Pretty good time for us 1/64 collectors. However, let’s talk Tomica. Yeah, I know the wheels are a common gripe. I get it. I wish they used different wheels as well. However, Tomica has also been on a roll with new release as of late. Their i8 was the first small scale i8 that collectors could get more easily than a dealership exclusive model. They were the first to do a 1/64ish scale Centenario. They did the Abrath 124 Spider. They did the R8 V10(I think that’s what the new R8 casting is), and, there’s still that AMG GT-R. They also did really well on their 2017 Nissan GT-R.

The Premium releases have also been great, but I still have to catch up. The Countach is really nice. 3000GT, NSX Skyline HT2000, Lancia Stratos, NSX Type R, 300ZX(I have one incoming), R33, Supra, that recently released Carrera, Evo GSI, and the upcoming Jota SVR, and more.

So, just for fun, I thought I would compile some vehicles for a wishlist for future releases. Tell me what you think, and feel free to leave your own wishlist. I really don’t know what to expect anymore. That i8 and Centenario really caught me off guard when first announced.

Regular releases:

Lamborghini Aventador SV. Majorette has the roadster, but, we could also use the hardtop.

Aston Martin Vulcan. SOMEBODY MAKE THIS IN 1/64 ALREADY 😡

BMW M2.

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz E Class. Just throwing a somewhat everyday luxury sedan here because why not?

Premium releases:

Lamborghini LM002. Matchbox is too small. Kyosho is too expensive. I think Tomica could do a good job with a Premium release of the Rambo Lambo.

Lamborghini 350GT. It was the first road Lamborghini. Someone’s gotta give it some love.

1985 Audi Sport Quattro. Stock or rally. Or both. I think more of you would rather have a rally version, though.

Ford Sierra RS Cosworth. This car seems to be quite liked, so why not?

Mercedes-Benz 300SL. Opening doors or not, this would be awesome.

BMW M1. Do I really need to explain this one :P

Audi 100 Coupe S. Have we seen a 70s Audi in this scale?

Stutz Blackhawk. Greenlight has one coming/one out in 1/43. Still wish they would have released it in 1/64.

DeTomaso Pantera: ^

Toyota MR2. Just adding to the other late 80s-90s imports.

Renault Alpine A110. Majorette has one, but still.

Gumpert Apollo S/Gumpert Apollo N: Probably the least likely to happen, but, why not include it?
