Which Car Needs a Re-Spray?

After commenting in a recent post on the general lack of die-casts in the L case that posses the "Got-To-Have-It-N0w!!!" factor like some previous releases (the Scooby and the Homer immediately jump to mind), I also feel like the latest releases have been off on something Hot Wheels has been doing really well at: re-colors. The teal Civic EF was much anticipated, as was the white Porsche. The latest? A blue Lamborghini. A Mercury Cougar with a terribly paint scheme (and including flames!)

I think they definitely can do better. One of the more depressing feelings is coming across a barely opened case at your local die-cast re-seller and, after shifting through the stock, coming away with a shrug and thinking "meh".

I turn it over to you LaLDieCaster's. What current casting would you like to see re-colored? What would get you excited?

I'll start, by saying the Scion FR-S. The FR-S is one of my favorite cars in real life and is genuinely really, really exciting to see a mainstream manufacturer take a chance on it. Yet the Hot Wheels versions have all been very underwhelming.

Heritage and history, ok. This is a good idea, but still not something that jumps out at you. It is also sharing space with the Toyota AE-86 which looks nearly identical (even in shape) until you look closely.

Another bad color combo. And, since the AE-86 version already has so much silver it doesn't stand out in the way it should. (I was so frustrated with the color that I actually removed it on one of my models. The car on the left has been "de-striped")

Best of the bunch, but still awfully plain.

The FR-S is a really exciting car, and deserves a stand out paint job!

What cars are you hoping to see re-colored (and how) in upcoming releases?
