New M2 Machines 1:64 Scale Model Kits

Honestly I'm not sure I've ever seen these in stores. I'm certainly going to start searching though! An early 50's Chevy truck, a Mustang, and (most excitingly, for me at least) a '56 Beetle USA Deluxe Model. That would have an oval rear window and cloth sliding sunroof for those of you who aren't obsessed with air-cooled Vee-Dubs. I'm just going to start there:

Paint perhaps wouldn't have been my first choice. Something a bit more "factory" look would've been better in my opinion. Since it is a model kit though I believe changing the exterior color would not be too taxing once you get this guy home. Otherwise, however, it hits all the right notes for me. Oval window is my favorite "generation" ('53-'57) and I love the massive amount of air and light the ragtop would let in without it being a convertible. I found this 1954 (assembled) version in Chicago over the holidays, in a much more subdued color scheme but also sans a sunroof, and it's one of the best versions from any company I've come across. I believe it was only $5 too!

With these kits you get the M2 lift structure for display, so these two would look great paired!

It appears that even with the Model Kit series M2 Releases a Chase Car, and they certainly made the right choice from these 3:

No note on rarity but I'm going to guess, like the other 1:64 Chase Cars in M2's lineup, it will be limited to 500 Worldwide. I will check with them and update accordingly.

Correction: There will only be 300 Worldwide.

Do you have experience with M2's kits? Have you seen them in any chain stores, even?

For those of you who may be a little less excited about the Beetle, what's your take on the Mustang and the Chevy truck?

The release date is listed as February so if they are not already on the shelves they should be soon!
