Purchasing Advice Wanted

Hi LaLDers,

Can anyone tell me if the 1:18 or 1:27 Maisto models are tough enough for kids to play with? My son is almost three and he has been crazy for Jeeps since he could talk. "Jeep" was one of his first words—I'm not kidding. So I'm considering this very nice looking 1:18 Jeep Wrangler:

But if this will break easily and just upset him, then I will look for something else. In which case, any suggestions? He has 100+ Hot Wheels and I think he's getting bored with them, so I'm looking for bigger toys that have movable parts. He loves the toys with opening doors and hoods.
