HW Report PT. 2

This is the follow up to my first HW report; this is not just an update on my HW find, but also a rant which you'll find out why soon. But first a quick description, I recently went back to the mall where I did my Tomica HAWL to look for new Tomicas or any Tomicas that I fancy but missed on my last trip (still no Subaru BRZ, sorry Jeff Simmons). About a block from the mall there's another mall but it's smaller and older than the one I went to and decided to try out my luck there. I found vines of HWs hanging near the entrance of the toy department and this is where the rant comes in, the cars are from the 2015 B cases which is outstanding for the reason being that I mentioned in PT.1, HWs cases are primordial ( very old) in Taiwan.

The downfall however, is the prices from this store is high; I mean, the price for these is as if it's from a different universe. A mainline here, can be priced as high as $380NT!!!

That's over $12 US, for a plain mainline!!! If it's some sort of special edition release or maybe $uper TH, then it makes a little bit of sense (because we've all seen this kind of number on Ebay) but for a mainline that's already considered outdated because we're already (at least in the US) moving on to C and D cases is unacceptable. It gets even weirder, there is no constant price for the HWs; the prices are all over the place as if someone just randomly slapped on the price tag. You may find one car that is priced at $380NT and then a car right next to it (from the same case) at $150NT. The most expensive HW I saw over there was an orange 2015 mainline release Morris Mini priced at $580NT ($18 US!!! WTF!!!) and the cheapest HW was the Rip Rod at $98NT (still more expensive than the HWs at the grocery store). The clerk was very rude when I asked her about the price fluctuation from car to car, she pretty much told me that's how it is, deal with it without giving me any reason whatsoever. In the end, I left empty-handed for obvious reasons and there aren't any castings that I was after. Despite that this episode of HW report somewhat gone South, this trip will also be the most memorable event that happened on my vacation in a good way. Because it's something I can think back and laugh about while I'm on my hunt when I'm back in the states. So, how about you guys, any places in the world that you guys find HWs that are just unreasonably expensive (excluding Ebay, we're talking about actual stores that you walk into). Feel free to comment away below.
