It’s been so long since I posted any HAWLs… or anything for that matter on LaLD, I only started showing some signs that I’m still alive on here last week with a few posts of my EDC Vega and that is about it. The past month or so have been filled with schoolwork, slim shipments of anything at local stores, and emotional pain from my depression. But within all that, I was attending to my second hobby of drawing with a specific theme of a recent film and sharing it with others to social media to help ease my stress and mental scars from a sorrow past. I gathered a few things to showcase during my hiatus,it may not be much compare to some HAWLs but there is some great stuff. The GLs were DLMed early since I was so excited for finding them as well as suspecting some quality issues on them will need to be addressed before showcasing them. Now lets DLM the rest…

First up, the Bounder and sweet cheese and crackers this thing is gigantic! Just look at it next to the 2 fancy cars that the owner of it also own. GL did a good job on it and the quality on it is good with no broken pieces or flaws in the paint or details, it didn’t came without problems though, the front wheels are wobbly when you roll it and the front right tire always dangling in the air. The wobbly ride was caused by a misalign axle which I took the whole thing apart and carefully eyeballing and bending the front axle to straighten it out, since I used to straighten wheels (also known as truing wheels) on Original Redlines for a friend of mine at a hobby store, it was pretty simple and only took a few minutes. The dangling wheel was a base issue where GL have the torqued the screws too much that holds the paper thin plastic base to the heavy metal body causing it to warp, I gently massaged the plastic base to make it straight and then screw everything back together just a quarter or half turn less than GL have done it and now everything is perfect.

Next up the GL Hitch & Tow, I love these flatbed trailers and I kept missing out on the previous flatbed trailer releases because my local TRU is diabolically pathetic at stocking new things, so when I saw this I went for it. The thing is well done too except the tires on one side of the F-150 isn’t rolling straight and catching in the wheel arch. This is an extremely common issue yet simple problem to fix of improperly molded rubber tires, nothing a little hobby knife or nail file to trim excess rubber from inside the tire can’t fix.

Possibilities for what to haul are endless!

As it turned out, Judy actually saved one thing for me to open since she knew I really like this car, the elusive MBX Jaaaaag.

This is the boxed version which I like since it’s a nod to the original MBX, the box is taped and not glued so less damage to the box.Usually I wouldn’t go for a car I can’t see through the package before buying due to quality issues, but since this is a MBX so tampo quality is solid and consistent so I have little worries, I was right.

These are another trade with Diablobianco, only 2 of the 3 are shown because the third car is the MBX Mustang police car which I need to hide so Judy won’t get her paws on it.

The Cadillac is simply stunning, picture can’t do it justice

The Silverado is one mean looking truck, and 3 numbers on the side makes it even more intimidating: 572 essentially the base for an alcohol fueled monster truck engine

Finally, my HAWLS. I don’t typically buy generic castings, but when I do, I prefer badass Dakar racers. The Quick Sander is my all-time favorite generic casting from MBX, the white one is a recent release and the dark grey one was an unexpected find from a grocery run.

Some cosmetic changes (detailing and small tampo delete) will be done to it soon and will update when it’s done.
