Due to the International Date Line it’s May 16th over here in Taiwan, but over in the states where most of our fellow collectors are, it’s still May 15th so technically I get 2 birthdays, oh joy!
What better way to mark myself turning 21 today other than going to the bar (in Taiwan, I could legally drink 3 years ago) than to do some diecast hunting and came back with these:
The weather isn’t exactly pleasant with huge downpour going on for the past 3 days but the temperature has dropped from an irritating 90 degrees with 70 percent humidity down to a cool 62 degrees so I ain’t complaining but it does limit my time to hunt before I’m completely soaked. Without further ado, lets check out what I purchased.
First up, the battle of the kei cars new redesigned Daihatsu Kopen and the spectacular Honda S660, the spiritual successsor to the Honda Beat
Lexus RC-F Carbon, my second Lexus from Tomica and the Subaru STi, interestingly, Subaru had a birthday of their own a day prior to mine, May 14th of this year marked the 50th birthday of Subaru’s iconic boxer engine.
The Subaru Levorg, a softer, more practical WRX that we’ll never get in the states :(
The Toyota Alphard, when I saw this car in pictures it didn’t look appealing to me, but seeing it in person it didn’t look too bad, here’s the 1:64
Here’s the 1:1 I spotted at the airport
My first ever Tomica Premium, I saw this at a good deal compare to the others so I grabbed it with the minimum amount of NT I had at the time since the banks here in Taiwan doesn’t open on weekends (including Saturday unlike in the US).
I also got a set of three cars that I mentioned at the beginning of my vacation post which I’ll make it into a little game to let you guess what they are with teasers and hints along the way.
