A sad day has dawn upon us, it’s time to say goodbye to my EDC Vega. For those that aren’t sure what I’m talking about, I asked the kind community of LaLD to vote on an EDC (Every Day Carry) car for me to carry around on my daily commutes. Out of 8 cars in the lineup consisting of off-roader to supercar the Chevy Vega was voted the winner. Within a year it filled me with many great memories and provided many posts here on LaLD on it’s various adventures even though some of them were uneventful trips to school and work that were so boring that I’ll either be charged with manslaughter for literally boring readers to death or get thrown rotten tomatoes for posting them.
Of course it’s not all lame and dreary trips to lectures that feels like millennium, there were fun times like going on HAWL adventures, outdoor activities such as bike trips (which sometimes go hand in hand with HAWL adventures) and just plain tomfoolery like going to a movie breakfast party to watch Zootopia (still unsure if it was a good idea to go watch a billion dollar box office success while half awake). The EDC Vega stood up to the daily dents and dings of my daily commutes surprisingly well with minimal damage and went through many transformations that help sharpen my detailing skills.
Now it has traveled abroad back to my homeland and seeing many highlights of Taiwan and visit memorable places. Proudly wearing all the minor battle scars and upgrades it gained throughout it’s journey, the EDC Vega will now enjoy an honorable retirement at its new home of Taiwan. It has been a wonderful adventure.
So what happens now? Will I get another EDC? The answer to that is: Yes! I’ll post a new poll soon with new candidates to become my next EDC, this time I’ll make it more interesting by broaden the scope a bit with other casting brands like Matchbox and even Tomica.
