Ladies and Gentlemen, the vote for the new 2016 EDC is here. As a recap, about a year ago, I selected 8 cars as nominees to become my EDC (Every Day Carry) which I take with me wherever I go, to school, to work, etc. I then let you fellow LaLDers to vote on the 8 cars and the one with the highest vote is the winner.
The winner was the Custom Vega and the journeys had been fun and surprisingly some are already missing the car which is a pleasant surprise to me. Now the car has retired another new car need to step up and take the throne. For this second poll, many changes and improvements. The variety of cars has been broadened both in brand and genre. There’s a little bit of everything from off-roader to sports car, something new, something old. Something wild, something mild and the diecast brand now consist of HW, MBX , and Tomica. Another new thing added to this new poll is I’ll personally select a second EDC from this lineup to alternate and make things more interesting. The poll for this second one will run longer from the previous 5 day voting period to a now full week starting today, Click on the link at the bottom of the page to vote or you can comment on this post and I’ll keep track that way also. Without further ado, let’s get started.
First, a Mitsubishi that does what it do best, conquering treacherous terrain at breakneck speeds. A decent ORAT car.
Next up, a favorite by many and an epic ORAT candidate everyone can agree.
The next candidate is an interesting one, it looks like it’s got the most experience at being an EDC out of the group. However, there’s an fascinating story behind this one that even surprised me.
The 81' Camaro, a little sentimental value to me because my late cousin had one of these in metallic chocolate (not exactly as badass as this one) during his high school years.
Bringing in some classic entertainment into the mix, KITT. No need for other introduction.
For this year’s EDC vote I decided to include some Porsches into the mix, this is the first one, the adaptive GT3.
Here’s the second Porsche, the 996 Turbo, the one that doesn’t deserve all the hate.
And lastly, just for fun, adding some up to date entertainment for good measure. The police cruiser from my favorite movie of the year Zootopia! Since it’s a Tomica it is the most expensive cast out of the group and could possibly be a good conversation piece.
So that’s the runner ups for this years EDC, I hope I can improve from the Vega’s success and hope you guys will enjoy the new adventures as much as the last one.
