In the past month and a half or so from between the time I from my Taiwan trip to now I’ve made a few HAWLS and completed HWEPS. However, life happened, my job switch, school, and the fact the stores have minimal of everything had changed my plans for my post and limited my time on LaLD. But today, I finally got a small window of time to complete my wish. Since the post is a bit clustered, I’ll make it into a 2-part post which both part have mixture of both HAWL and HWEP as well as the second part will be a bit more glamorous than the first.
I’ll start with a part of my small HAWL, the rest of the HAWL will be moved to part 2 since it’ll be more appropriate. Found a MBX Mazda Miata which is available for trade and snatched up 2 specialties: a Corvette C7 Stingray $TH while grocery shopping and the elusive Yellow Submarine at Walmart.
Speaking of Walmart, my local Walmart has now been flooded with The Beatles series including a ton of Kool Kombies that no one wants, the ones I found was only one part of the dumpbin, there’s another dumpbin with them beyond the shot and that’s before getting to the pegs.
Errors too
I ended up not picking up any of them since I only collect what I like and got plenty of these shorty V-dubs in my collection, but it does prove one thing: be patient while collecting, you’re patience will be rewarded.
Next up is a part of my HWEPS from various people (the rest will be moved to part 2) I’ll start with the Hot Rods I traded with Tyler Linner, the 1957 Chevy Bel Air 150 and the 1937 Custom Ford. They’re both from the long discontinued Hot Wheels 100% series where Mattel destroyed all the molds for these cars and will never be made again. They’re exceptionally detailed and some parts were either meticulously painted or replicated as individual part.
The Bel Air seem like a normal pristine classic but looking inside will show evidence of it lived it’s past life in the fast lane. HW did do a this particular cast in nostalgic NASCAR variant and roll cage was included, the roll cage was transferred to a few stock variants and I quite like it, it’s like a classic sleeper.
To cap off Part 1, will be this GL Hitch n Tow Dodge Ram with enclosed trailer I traded with Amoore100. By now you may have already seen his post about a Volvo XC90 by Welly, this is the other half of that trade. It’s to this date the longest negotiating trade I’ve ever done on LaLD: Over a month in the making, I know some on here have gone for longer and I’m grateful that this wasn’t anywhere as long, the trade went many directions with many confusions along the way which is not exactly my cup of tea but in the end we’re both happy with what we got and that’s consider a win in my book.
During the ordeal, Amoore offered me the same truck and trailer painted in Dodge livery which I turned down because it limited the type of cars I can haul, with this plain truck and trailer variant I can haul a 2 million trackday toy today:
And a forgotten racecar begging to be restored to it’s former glory the next.
