'Murica Monday: Bonnie and Clyde

Over six decades, the Corvette has come a long way. At first, it was considered to be a muscle car and now has become a bona fide sports car that can go toe to toe with the European elites.

The Zo6 is one of the top performance car arsenal from Chevy with the recently revealed ZR1 that dethroned it as the commander in chief and the slightly milder flavor Grand Sport following behind. Developed simultaneously with the Corvette C7.R from the successful Corvette Racing program. The C7 Zo6 is meaner than ever with force induction in the form of a large supercharger, a first for the Zo6 with new tech to put all 650hp to good use at targeting the best track weapons Europe can offer. At the same time though, it does have a slightly soft side. The C7 Zo6 offers several options that were never offered before, its offered for the first with an automatic and for the first time in convertible form shown here.

There’s a simple explanation for all these new offering though. To increase sale, and IMO its not a bad thing. Some of the quickest sportscars today are automatics and the 8-speed auto offered on the Z06 is no slouch. In fact, Chevy claims the 8-speed shifts quicker than Porsche PDK gearbox.

HW does pretty good job when it comes to Corvettes... except that C7.R, that was definitely not one of HW’s best moments. But they did learn from their mistake afterward with the Zo6 coupe that was perfect, and now the convertible version is just as good. Tampo is acceptable with tiny misalignment on the headlights but not as severe as the Honda CTR I showcased about a week ago.
