EDC Cherokee is back welcoming my first official post of 2018 starring a special guest.
For this adventure, a special visit to the 2018 Taipei International Auto Show hosted at the Nangang Exhibition Center with the veteran EDC Vega, my first EDC and the one that started my adventure series. There’s two good reasons why the old EDC came along. One it’s a nice nostalgic feeling that at the same time write a little new memory and two. The EDC Vega is the only one out of the three EDCs I’ve had so far that never been to a car show.
First, lets get this thing out of the way.
Ugh, that’s harsh on the eyes. Time for a cleanse, now I must warn some pictures below maybe consider NSFW as in you won’t be productive if you’re at work when you see some of the cars that this show have in store. But I do try to soften the blow by posting this in the morning close to lunch break on a Friday. Here goes.
Here’s a brand that not many heard of. This is a Luxgen, its an automaker started right here in Taiwan and they’ve already made several model types like sedans, hatchbacks, crossovers, and MPV (minivan).
Ouch.
I don’t mean to trash talk the Denver Auto Show, which is the main big auto show I attend since I was 8yrs old. This show makes the Denver Auto Show look like garbage. You don’t get nearly as many exotics as this show and don’t even think about seeing the latest concept cars and race cars, or any of these:
The EDC buddies even started a fun game of “which one have the best photoshoot with a car.”
The winner for me is this one:
This was in the back of a Volvo V90 wagon. I can totally picture myself in the future owning one of these with R design trim (although the RS6 Avant will be me top choice but fine Swede will suffice) driving to nowhere in particular with no one but a husky (adore them!). I love a fine Italian or precision German exotic as much as anybody else, but this dream is something more achievable for me.
Which one is the winner for you? Or which car at the show you like the most?
That’s all for now. Until next time. Cheers.
