Well, for my first French Friday featurette, I’ll be starting small - micro-level small.
This here is a Speedeez Peugeot 206 WRC, produced by Playmate Toys under the Speedeez line in the early 2000s.
These cars are easily identified by the ball bearing built into the underside, enabling them to roll much faster, and be moved by magnets.
The real Peugeot 206 WRC was a factory-produced rally car designed for competition in the World Rally Championship from 1999-2003. It marked the return of Peugeot to the WRC championship after the end of Group B and the 205 T16.
The success of the 206 WRC placed Peugeot at the top in the Constructors’ Championship in three consecutive years from 2000 to 2002. They also won the Drivers’ Championship in 2000 and 2002.
