This is Spark’s 1/43 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R as it ran in the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans. While this car’s C6.R sibling, #73, won the GTE Pro class that year, the #74 ended the race with a DNF. Heading into Sunday morning, the 74 had a 2 lap lead in its class, but was taken out of the race in a crash with another car.
The car was driven by Oliver Gavin, Jan Magnussen, and Richard Westbrook.
I’m not much of a Corvette guy, but I had to chance to purchase this fairly cheaply several years ago. I like the livery and am always open to adding Le Mans cars to my collection, so I pulled the trigger.
Typical Spark quality here. The details are fantastic and there are plenty of little plastic bits glued to the exterior that add to the detail. There’s also a wonderfully detailed interior.
