I thought I’d give you guys some eye-candy before posting the weirder stuff - otherwise I might get booted off here.

This is the new TLV Isuzu 117 Coupe. Made from 1968 to 1981, it was an upmarket Grand Tourer for the Japanese market - and only made in relatively small numbers - 86,000 cars in 13 years. And - unusually for sports car at the time - it was also available with a Diesel engine.

If it reminds you a bit of the Fiat Dino, it’s only because Giorgetto Giugiaro designed both of them at the same time! Or, as some day, he sold the same design to both Fiat and Isuzu...

Tomica have already made a Regular and a Limited casting of this car - so why make another one, and why buy another one? Just look at it, it’s gorgeous. That’s why. ;-)

Both the car and the casting of the next one are a little less perfect than the Isuzu.

The Mitsubishi Galant Sigma doesn’t really need much of an introduction. It was one of Mitsu’s dullest designs in my opinion, but they sold them by the boat load and even bought the old Chrysler factory here in Australia to build them locally.

Which is why there were a few Chrysler-badged variants around. And old as they are, they still haunt the Supermarket and Bingo Hall parking lots of suburban Australia, driven by pensioners who still happily tootle around in them. Especially ones in this shade of beige.
