Here’s a car with an engine that produces 22nm of torque. Think about it - a wheel nut on your car is attached with about 90-100nm of torque. You can do that by hand.
Which means you could stop this car from driving away, by holding on to it...
But before you can unleash all of that performance, you have to assemble this little fellow - as it is one of those Dydo models which came in kit car form. Now - this isn’t quite as complicated as, say, a Pocher model. Here’s what you start out with:
That looks pretty simple. And it is. Once you pop the blister, you even get instructions - sort of:
You separate the interior from the base, pop the axles in, and then put the interior back on.
Now you have the rolling chassis, the body and glass are already pre-assembled.
Then you just screw the base to the body - even the screwdriver is provided.
And that’s it. Even your coffee is still hot after you’re done.
And let’s just have a quick look at the packaging, as it does have a few neat features. On the front, you get a list of all the models in the series - very handy.
The racing ones are always the hardest / most expensive ones to get. There are also some models on the bottom of the package, I have never seen any of these for sale anywhere. Does someone know what the story there is?
And on the back of the pack, the car specs and a couple of publicity shots from the time.
Well, that’s it. I just wish my local coffee shop sold kits like these. I would spend even more time there if they did!
