Everyone knows the AMC Pacer, right? The “first wide small car”. The car that should have had a fancy, high-revving rotary engine, but ended up with an emissions strangled, lumbering Chevy V8. Or, if you design Hot Wheels, you ignore both engines and whack a 427 Big Block in the back...

This model is a 1982 Hot Wheels from “The Hot Ones” series. It was first introduced in 1978 and was last seen in 1984.

Much like the real car, this casting apparently wasn’t much of a success - which made me want to have one even more. But do you know what the best thing about the AMC Pacer was? I mean, really the only good thing you could say about this car? It was this ad, produced by the French Importer... And with that thought, I bid you adieu for the night.
