Here’s a car with a name that says it all: The Clio Cup - which is being used in the Clio Cup racing series. This series is run in no less than 15 countries: Belgium, Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

The cars are based on the latest Clio RS (Renault Sport) model - but currently they are using the 5-door version for racing, whereas the RS model is a 3-door. I don’t really get why, I must say.

Like all of the Majorette Racing models, the paint job is captured rather well for a model of this price, though the wheels, well, that’s where the price shows. But our resident wheels swappers would have no problem fixing that in a hurry. Not that I like the wheels on the 1:1 all that much, to be honest.

No notable drivers seem to have emerged from this series, though from the little bit that I’ve seen on TV and the net, it looks like a lot of fun.
