Want to buy a cheap Porsche? Well, here’s your chance. And not just the Matchbox version either. Even here in Australia, you can buy them for under 10k. The most expensive one right now is for sale priced at 27k. That’s what you can expect to pay for a completely knackered 911, if you’re lucky.

As many of you will know, the 944 was developed from the 924. But instead of the Audi engine in the 924, the 944 received a proper Porsche engine. But it was still an in-line Four - basically, half a 928 engine.

To me, the 944 looks better than both the 924 before it and the 968 that replaced it. So maybe now is the time to get a 1:1? I guess so. Unless you happen to think that a Porsche should have an engine in the back. Which is sort of what I think. But then again, it’s just about the last cheap Porsche out there.
