Teutonic Tuesday: Z4 Motorsport Variations

I thought it might be fun to put the two most recent HW Z4 Motorsports next to each other. Basically to see if the extra expenditure of the BMW Series was justified. Truth be told, not really.

While I like the satin finish paint job on the gray model, the blue Mainline edition has by far the better tampos. The wheels on either are fine with me.

But what really baffled me was that the gray “BMW Series” model is missing something in the interior. The roll cage. It’s there and very visible in the blue mainline casting (Made in Malaysia).

The gray one (Made in Thailand) doesn’t have it - instead, you can see more of the detail in the back. Weird.

There are other, subtle differences in the castings too - you can probably spot a few in the pics. But honestly, charging more for the gray one is a bit of marketing genius - there’s nothing special about the model, other than the BMW card.
