Growing up with a father that was constantly traveling, I gathered fond memories of going to the airport to meet him after a long trip, then watching him go again usually within a week. The busy, never-ceasing momentum of an international airport was quite the over-stimulating experience that left quite the impression on my young mind. Yet, only recently have I rediscovered this passion, working at a site near the approach of a local airport.
This MD-80 in house livery was the first diecast plane I've purchased, perhaps of the memories of my own travels when I was young, furious to have a window seat that was obstructed by the large and very noisy engine. Still, it was a rush.
I put my Lego doppelgänger on the wing as a reference to the 1:200 scale. This plane surprised me with how heavy it is.
I hope to acquire more jets soon, and would love to hear from anyone else collecting!
